 Jan 12, 2009 In the spirit of camaradie, call center companies in the Philippines unite for a friendly battle of the brawn. Here's the virtual niche for all participants, spectators and what-not! The 1st Call Center Olympics or Colympics will open on March 21, 2009, 1PM at the Meralco Fitness Center, Meralco Compound, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City. It is composed of 10 sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Bowling, Billiards, Swimming, Frisbee, Football/Soccer and Airsoft. The sports games are going to be held every Saturdays and Sundays and will culminate on a two day finals on May or June. A Cheerleading Competition shall also be held on the last day of the two day finals. The Colympics is open for all call centers and its employees and aims to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among the players in the Call Center Industry. This will also be a good venue for call center employees to showcase their other skills and talents outside work. Colympics targets a minimum of 14 participating companies and as much as 250 plus players per company. It is also to expected to garner an audience of 5,000-6,000 people not just from the industry but also from other market bracket as well. A portion of this event's proceeds will support WWF-Philippines projects. This will be a great help in sustaining WWF's efforts in marine conservation, environmental education and in climate change mitigation and adaptation.   Jun 24, 2009
